7 | Ascending the Mountain of God

​ It happened on the anniversary of the day when Moses ascended the mountain and met with God face to face. It happened on the same day that Moses first saw the Father’s glory and heard Him declare His own name and eternal nature as Moses himself recorded—

​ Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord.

​ And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,

​ maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation (Exodus 34:5-7)

​ It was on this day, 1500 [10] years earlier that Moses laid hold of the golden circle of fellowship between Father and Son and stood right in the middle of it. Moses drank in the glory and the love of the Father so fully that he descended from the mountain shining with the full radiance of that golden light. [32] But the people were terrified and begged him to cover his face. [33] They wanted no part of the golden circle simply because they either refused or were unable to understand it. It was why Israel could not and would not recognize or acknowledge their Messiah. It was why they were blinded to the true nature of their heavenly Father. It was why they wandered in the wilderness and begged for earthly flesh instead of the nourishing meat of knowing Him. Yet, even in Israel’s many rebellions, the Father’s love and wisdom proceeded with His plan to unveil and reveal His full purposes, to draw them in again to His full glory, and ultimately restore them into the golden circle of fellowship.

​ And now 1500 years later, the descendants of those who said “no” to the golden light of fellowship now waited with anticipation to receive it. They waited with expectation in Zion, just as Moses had once waited on Sinai.

​ Moses’ journey to Sinai was a journey of revelation. He had met the Father at the burning bush. He had seen great signs and wonders in carrying out Israel’s deliverance from Egypt. He had heard the Father’s voice as He lamented the suffering of the Father’s children and received wisdom to call for their deliverance. But now, these waiting here had seen something even greater. They had not seen the Red Sea part, but they had seen countless demonized people restored to their right mind. They had seen the dead raised, the lepers cleansed, the sick healed. They had heard the words of wisdom the Son spoke and seen him multiply their lunch. But most importantly, they understood that through His sacrifice, He had purchased the right to remove the veil of
